About the Design Home 2011
Philadelphia Magazine’s Tenth Annual Design Home will feature a newly renovated, luxurious estate in Haverford PA.
Waverly Custom Homes, of Bryn Mawr, PA (Architectural Design by Stephen Varenhorst), has completed a historic renovation and addition to a classic Main Line Manor Home. While adding all the best and latest amenities, Waverly's focus was in returning the home to its original beauty. This home will be modernized in every conceivable way, providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for raising a family.
The home's interior is designed by Diane Bishop of Diane Bishop Interiors. Diane and her staff collaborate with clients to create custom-tailored designs that make each space feel unique and personal. Diane's creativity and original perspective fuses into her planning to create an unsurpassed vision.

Public Tour Information
Doors open for tours September 10, 2011, and the Design Home is open to the public for the following dates and times:
- September 10 through October 9
- Thursdays from 12pm to 8pm
- Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 11am to 4pm
- CLOSED Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Tickets are $20 per person and all proceeds benefit the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Tickets are now available online starting Monday, August 1, and are also available at the door or over the phone by calling 215.387.8431.
Please note, children over the age of 12 are welcome to visit the Design Home.

Wells Fargo is offering a special price of $15 per ticket, with the use of your Wells Fargo or Wachovia card. Wells Fargo will donate $5 to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House for each ticket sold. You must bring your card along with your tickets to receive this offer. Parking & Directions
Parking for the Design Home is located at Athertyn at Haverford Reserve, located at 5109 Parkview Drive, Haverford, PA 19041. (For GPS, use: 3500 Darby Road) or visit Athertyn’s website.
From Route 476: Take Rt 476 to Villanova Exit. Merge onto US 30E toward Villanova. Go 0.9 miles and make a sharp right onto PA 320S/Sproul Rd Go 3.3 miles and turn left onto Darby Road Go 1.4 miles to Haverford Reserve. Turn right onto Parkview Drive. Shuttle parking lot is on the right.
From Main Line Area: Take US 30 to Ardmore Ave. Go 1.8 miles and turn right onto Darby Road Go 0.3 miles and turn left onto Parkview Drive. Shuttle parking lot is on the right.
Please note that there is no parking at the Design Home.

Design-a-Palooza
Saturday, September 24th
This event will be geared toward the homeowner looking for ideas to spruce up their homes - from changing paint color or updating with molding, to adding hardscaping or changing lighting. This event will begin at 9:30 am (an hour before tours start) for those interested in more of a seminar experience. Once the tours start, participating sponsors will have representatives located in different areas of the house to offer advice to guests throughout the day. Signage will be posted at the house with a brief description and location of each sponsor.
Wine and Spirits Pairings at Design Home
6-8pm Thursdays
Every Thursday night, as part of the tours (Tours run 12-8 on Thursdays), we will be offering wine or spirits sampling paired with wonderful treats from Carlino's.
