Madlyn Abramson

Honorary Life Member

Madlyn Abramson is an Honorary Life Member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.

She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. She taught in the Upper Darby School District and was a reading specialist for the School District of Philadelphia before joining the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit staff.

An active volunteer in the community, Mrs. Abramson serves on the boards of directors of many organizations, including the Children’s Oncology Services, National Trustee of American Friends of the Hebrew University, Friends of the Samuel Paley Day Care Center, State of Israel Bonds/Women’s Division, Gratz College, Germantown Academy, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. She is the 17th woman to serve as a University of Pennsylvania Trustee. Mrs. Abramson is a trustee of Penn Medicine, as well as a member of the Trustees’ Council of Penn Women and of the Board of Overseers of the Graduate School of Education. Mrs. Abramson and her husband, Leonard, have provided leadership support to Penn Medicine throughout the years with the endowment of the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute and the Abramson Cancer Center.
