There are many ways that your company can become involved in supporting families of seriously ill children staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. Below is a quick guide with some options.

Special thanks to our Premier Corporate Partners, for making our work possible year after year.

1

Become a Guest Chef or Meals-To-Go Group

Gather your friends and join our Guest Chef or Meals-To-Go programs! You’ll prepare and serve a home-cooked dinner or breakfast for our guest families at either the Front and Erie House or Chestnut Street House. Our families rely on these meals, which relieve them of the burden of cooking a meal after a long and exhausting day at the hospital.

Adopt A Room or Adopt A Family

The Adopt-A-Room partnership program allows individuals, companies or organizations to sponsor one of the 147 guest rooms at our two houses, providing a warm place to sleep to all of the families who will stay in that room throughout the year. Room sponsorships can be split between two families or groups. Individuals can also Adopt A Family by sending in a donation that underwrites the family’s stay for a specific time period.

3

Adopt A Family Room

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room programs extend the support of our two Ronald McDonald Houses into the hospital by offering a quiet, comfortable place for families to rest and regroup during their child’s treatment—helping them to reduce stress and focus on their own health and well-being while they take care of their child. You can become a Family Room Partner and/or drop-off meals for families who are utilizing the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia or St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Meal donations ensure families have time to eat while staying close to their child’s side while at the hospital.

4

Adopt A Cabin or Adopt A Camper

Every August, RMHC of the Philadelphia Region hosts Ronald McDonald Camp in the Poconos Mountains. This camp enables children with cancer and their siblings to experience the joys of summer camp and just be kids. Through the Adopt-A-Camper program, sponsors can ensure that a child with cancer will have something to look forward to this summer and provide them with a much-needed break from the stress and uncertainty of treatment. In addition to adopting a camper, sponsors can opt to adopt an entire cabin of children battling cancer and their siblings through the Adopt A Cabin program.

Volunteer at our Houses or a PRMH Event

Our volunteers are the heart of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region. They help make the House a comfortable and supportive place for families—either by welcoming guests, driving vans, restocking the pantry or just listening—and help the staff at our fundraising events. Whichever way you choose to volunteer, you’ll be helping to make the House a home for our families.

Host a Fundraiser or Make a Donation

We’ve seen supporters get creative and have fun hosting bake sales, wish list drives, socials, and walks to raise funds. Personal donations also go a long way to support the families that we serve. Your contribution will provide comfort and hope to families of seriously ill children.

Show Your Stripes

The Show Your Stripes Fundraiser began in 2014 as a celebration of the 40th birthday of the House. It is a fun and easy way for everyone to get involved and support RMHC of the Philadelphia Region in three easy steps: 1) families, friends, and companies purchase our striped items; 2) they then take creative photos of themselves wearing the gear; 3) they choose their best photo and post it on social media to garner much-needed awareness for the House. While our biggest Show Your Stripes celebration is held on our birthday, October 15, our partners arrange Show Your Stripes events throughout the year.

Recycle for the House

A fun and easy way to donate to RMHC of the Philadelphia Region is by collecting tabs from soda cans and soup cans. We turn this into aluminum into cash for the House. We’ve raised over $175,000 since the program’s inception in 1997.

Join us at our next Inspirational Breakfast!

Inspirational breakfasts are a great way to learn more about RMHC of the Philadelphia Region. At these breakfasts, guests hear from one of our beloved co-founders, who recognized the benefit of providing a community of comfort and hope for families of seriously ill children. Attendees will also learn more about the history of the Chestnut Street House, the programs we offer, and how we are making a difference in the lives of the thousands of families who stay with us each year.
